Emmy Nomination Predictions: Best Actress in a Drama Series

Commentary - So this is a tough category to narrow down, but I am pretty sure about at least four of them. Julianna Margulies will hopefully submit correctly this year, and get the Emmy. But she is going to have some tough competition. Elisabeth Moss is going to have a slam dunk episode in The Suitcase, and if Kyra Sedgwick's win is any indication, that is a huge boost. Speaking of Sedgwick, while I don't think she has a winning episode this year, she will definitely make the cut for a nod. I was wavering on Katey Segal, but her episode with Hal Holbrook, plus her Golden Globe win, means she is definitely on the radar, and I am now more confident of her nomination. I am also pretty certain that for the second year in a row, that the wonderful Connie Britton will get in, and hell, if the Emmys love FNL enough and cry watching the last episode, she could be a dark horse contender for the win. In the last spot there are three potential contenders. Kathy Bates is a legend, but Harry's Law is not that great. Mierelle Enos was a lock at the beginning of the season, but voters may not go for The Killing as many think they will. So instead I am playing it safe with an old Emmy favorite in Mariska Hargitay. It is her last season, and although the show got old a couple of seasons ago, these voters love them some Mariska Hargitay.
