2014 Emmy Predictions: Best Supporting Actor in a Drama Series

Will Win - Josh Charles "The Good Wife"

Should Win - Josh Charles "The Good Wife"

Could Win - Aaron Paul "Breaking Bad" or Peter Dinklage "Game of Thrones"

Commentary - For most of this season, it looked like this was going to be a battle between two previous winners, Peter Dinklage and Aaron Paul. And this could very well happen. Both are previous winners, well-liked, and both have incredible Emmy-bait scenes in their episodes. But I think both have some issues. Neither episode has enough material for each. They have their big scenes, and sometimes that is enough. If they nail it, which they do, then Emmys could follow. But I am going out of a limb here for Josh Charles. The acting branch went to bat this year for the great season of The Good Wife, and one of their actors has won in each year (although, this year it could be two). Josh Charles made a smart move in submitting Hitting the Fan. He has so much to do, so many layers from anger to love and back. Plus, the episode as a whole is simply fantastic. I think that there is an upset brewing, and if I had to bet, I would bet on Charles. If for no other reason, than he, and this wonderful show, deserve some recognition.
