HFPA Moves "The Help" to Drama - Updated Comedy/Musical Golden Globe Predictions

So The Help submitted itself as a comedy, and I included it in my initial Comedy predictions, but I had this inkling that the HFPA would move it to Drama, which it promptly did. So now here my "Help"-less Comedy/Musical predictions. Later this weekend/week I will do the Drama/General predictions, which I'm sure will include The Help across the board.

Best Picture - Comedy/Musical
The Artist
Midnight in Paris
Young Adult
We Bought a Zoo

Best Actor - Comedy/Musical
Steve Carell "Crazy, Stupid Love"
Johnny Depp "The Rum Diary"
Jean Dujardin "The Artist"
Joseph Gordon-Levitt "50/50"
Owen Wilson "Midnight in Paris"

Best Actress- Comedy/Musical
Berenice Bojo "The Artist"
Emma Stone "Crazy, Stupid Love"
Charlize Theron "Young Adult"
Kristen Wiig "Bridesmaids"
Michelle Williams "My Week With Marilyn"

  1. The Golden Globes has the tendency to be a little unpredictable (like last year when Burlesque and The Tourist made Best Picture) so I am expecting The Globes to have more unconventional nominations.

  2. That's what makes the Globes so unpredictable. These are far from my final predictions, but even if I try to guess the curveballs, I am still bound to miss some. For example, I have this thought that Footloose will end up getting a nod, because they love musicals, even though the films I predict are much better. We'll have to wait and see.
