Best Actor in a Drama Series
Jason Bateman "Ozark"
Sterling K. Brown "This is Us"
Kevin Costner "Yellowstone"
Brian Cox "Succession"
Lee Jung-jae "Squid Game"
Jeremy Strong "Succession"
Other Contenders - Bob Odenkirk "Better Call Saul", Adam Scott "Severance", Lee Min-ho "Pachinko", Jonathan Bailey "Bridgerton"
Commentary - Bob Odenkirk's snub last time has weighed heavily on me, and I moved in Kevin Costner in that sixth slot, with the sudden rise of Yellowstone on the awards circuit. The other five feel pretty set. Previous winners Sterling K. Brown and Jeremy Strong feel safe, as do Jason Bateman and Brian Cox. Throw in this year's SAG Winner Lee June-jae, and you have only one slot to really play with, and most people are predicting Odenkirk. If it is neither Odenkirk nor Costner, look for Adam Scott if Severance comes in hot, Lee Min-ho or Jonathan Bailey to upset.
Best Actress in a Drama Series
Jennifer Aniston "The Morning Show"
Jodie Comer "Killing Eve"
Laura Linney "Ozark"
Melanie Lynskey "Yellowjackets"
Mandy Moore "This is Us"
Zendaya "Euphoria"
Other Contenders - Sandra Oh "Killing Eve", Britt Lower "Severance", Reese Witherspoon "The Morning Show", Juliette Lewis "Yellowjackets", Kelly Reilly "Yellowstone"
Commentary - Jennifer Aniston, Laura Linney, and Zendaya feel locked and loaded, and I am really hopeful that voters put Mandy Moore back in for her great final season of This is Us. Melanie Lynskey won the Critics Choice and there is a lot of love behind Yellowjackets. Finally, I am predicting previous winner Jodie Comer to get in one last time. But I am weary of those last two slots with names like Britt Lower, Sandra Oh, Kelly Reilly, Reese Witherspoon, and Juliette Lewis on the ballot. This race could end up with a few surprises.
