Other Contenders - Gaslit, The Staircase, 1883, Inventing Anna, The First Lady, WeCrashed, Pam and Tommy, We Own This City, Moon Knight, Impeachment: American Crime Story, The Offer, A Very British Scandal
Commentary - Dopesick, MAID, and The White Lotus lead this race, and honestly Academy voters have a hard task ahead of them. The other three slots are up for grabs. The Dropout will get a lot of nominations, so I have it in 4th. Under the Banner of Heaven has had a lot of buzz, both positive and negative, but it is keeping in on voters minds. In the last slot, I think that the top-notch reviews for Station Eleven will propel it to an Emmy nod, but it is vulnerable. Gaslit, A Very British Scandal, and The Staircase are recent hits, WeCrashed is getting a huge push, as is Pam and Tommy, 1883 could ride the Yellowstone popularity wave, We Own This City is fantastic, and I would not discount The Offer, Inventing Anna, The First Lady, Moon Night, and Impeachment.
Best Television Movie
The Fallout
Fresh
Ray Donovan: The Movie
The Survivor
Zoey's Extraordinary Christmas
Other Contenders - Chip N' Dale: Rescue Rangers, The House, The Waltons: Homecoming, I Want You Back, Christmas in Tune
Commentary - The Fallout and The Survivor are the only two films that are really worthy, but compared to recent years, a win for either will feel refreshing in a category that has devolved into a joke. Ray Donovan and Zoey have name recognition, and are not bad. Fresh may have had mixed reactions, but it has some name recognition.
