Best Supporting Actor in a Limited Series/TV Movie
Naveen Andrews "The Dropout"
Murray Bartlett "The White Lotus"
O-T Fagbenle "The First Lady"
William H. Macy "The Dropout"
Nick Robinson "MAID"
Peter Saarsgard "Dopesick"
Michael Stulbarg "Dopesick"
Other Contenders - Seth Rogen "Pam & Tommy", Shea Wigham "Gaslit", Matthew Goode "The Offer", Wyatt Russell "Under the Banner of Heaven", Steve Zahn "The White Lotus", Jake Lacy "The White Lotus", Dan Stevens "Gaslit", Will Poulter "Dopesick", Tim McGraw "1883", Michael Stuhlbarg "The Staircase"
Commentary - Murray Bartlett better win this Emmy. He is a lock for a nomination. Dopesick and The Dropout are strong contenders across the board, and I expect them to take four of these slots. Naveen Andrews, Michael Stuhlbarg, and Peter Saarsgard feel really strong. William H. Macy, I thought, would be done with the Emmys after the college scandal. But after he was nominated last year, I assume voters didn't care. He is one of those guys that gets nominated if he is on the ballot. MAID was so strong early one, and it will be interesting to see if it holds on. I think it will and bring Nick Robinson along with it. He has done a lot of great work, and this would be a big step in terms of recognition. Finally, I moved in O-T Fagbenle. The First Lady has had mixed reception, but most people agree that at least the cast is pretty good. He plays Obama, he recently surprised with a nomination for The Handmaid's Tale, and I think he takes the last slot. Seth Rogen has a lot of support, but these voters prefer classier affairs than Pam & Tommy. Watch out for Wigham, Goode, Russell, Zahn and Lacy, Poulter, McGraw, and Stevens.
Best Supporting Actress in a Limited Series or TV Movie
Connie Britton "The White Lotus"
Ellen Burstyn "The First Lady"
Jennifer Coolidge "The White Lotus"
Rosario Dawson "Dopesick"
Kaitlyn Dever "Dopesick"
Andie MacDowell "MAID"
Laurie Metcalf "The Dropout"
Other Contenders - Alexandra Daddario "The White Lotus", Anika Noni Rose "MAID", Juliette Binoche "The Staircase", Chloe Sevigny "The Girl From Plainville", Edie Falco "Impeachment: American Crime Story", Danielle Deadwyler "Station Eleven", Juno Temple "The Offer", Betty Gilpin "Gaslit", Faith Hill "1883", Ann Dowd "Live In Front of a Studio Audience"
Commentary - Andie MacDowell is strong for MAID, but Jennifer Coolidge is hot on her case. I think Connie Britton will join her co-star and maybe split some votes. The Dopesick duo of Dawson and Dever, feel like they are going to triumph, and I never personally bet against Ellen Burstyn or Laurie Metcalf. But, I think this is a fluid race. Daddario could join her co-stars, Rose is fantastic, Binoche, Sevigny, Falco, Temple, Gilpin, and Dowd are previous Emmy favorites. I am also rotting for Danielle Deadwyler to make the cut, if voters remember how good Station Eleven was.
