2018 Emmy Nomination Predictions: Best Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series

2018 Nomination Predictions
Louie Anderson "Baskets"
Alec Baldwin "Saturday Night Live"
Tituss Burgess "Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt"
Sean Hayes "Will & Grace"
Brian Tyree Henry "Atlanta"
Tony Shalhoub "The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel"

Other Contenders - Marc Maron "GLOW", Henry Winkler "Barry", Ty Burrell "Modern Family", Lakeith Stanfield "Atlanta", Eric Stonestreet "Modern Family", Kumail Nanjiani "Silicon Valley", Andre Braugher "Brooklyn Nine-Nine", Tony Hale "Arrested Development", Jesse Tyler Ferguson "Modern Family", Ed O'Neill "Modern Family", Laurence Fishburne "black-ish", Kenan Thompson "Saturday Night Live"

Commentary - I see this as an eight-way race for six slots. I think Louie Anderson, Tituss Burgess, and Alec Baldwin will all easily return. I also think Sean Hayes will have no trouble returning after all these years, and could easily come in an win yet another Emmy for his role as Jack. The last two slots are where I am having trouble. Henry Winkler and Marc Maron are hard to pass up in those slots, but I will take Emmy favorite Tony Shalhoub, and one of the Atlanta stars, which is set to have an awesome second outing. If Atlanta and The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel really are the top two contenders for Best Comedy Series, they will show their strength here. Also, if these guys miss, it could show some weakness for either or both of them.
