Commentary - There are so many great comedy series, and yet I feel like this is really a seven-way race for six slots. One of these folks from last year has to make room for Atlanta. I know this sounds crazy, but I think Modern Family is going to leave this category. Buzz is non-existant. Last year, it only got two nominations, and continues to lose ground, and the other six all had great seasons to justify a return. Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt is also vulnerable because it doesn't get writing and directing love. But it, along with Master of None, premiered at just the right time and are getting the buzz at the right time. Now, I will not be surprised if Modern Family returns, but I think that Emmy voters are ready to move on.
