Best Actor in a Limited Series/TV Movie
Will Win - Michael Keaton "Dopesick"
Could Win- Sebastian Stan "Pam & Tommy"
Should Win - Michael Keaton "Dopesick"
Commentary - Only two of the nominees are from series nominated for Limited Series, and both are the clear favorites for the top two spots. Stan is interesting in Pam & Tommy, but Keaton should have this wrapped up. He won at SAG and Critics Choice and gave impassioned speeches. He is a living legend, and is the heart and soul of Dopesick, which is one of the two front runners for the top prize. This combination should equal Emmy gold.
Best Actress in a Limited Series/TV Movie
Will Win - Amanda Seyfried "The Dropout"
Could Win - Lily James "Pam & Tommy" or Julia Garner "Inventing Anna"
Should Win - Margaret Qualley "Maid"
Commentary - I think Qualley's performance in Maid is beautifully wrought, and had it gotten its deserved slot in Limited Series, maybe she would be in the mix. Instead, I think this is a three-way race. Amanda Seyfried is the lead in The Dropout, which did well in writing and directing, and is probably third place in the Limited Series race. She is a big, Oscar-nominated star and got rave reviews. But, Lily James could easily surprise for a transformative role (and the actors clearly loves Pam & Tommy). Also, don't bet against Julia Garner, who is now an Emmy favorite. I think it is Seyfried's to lose.
