Best Actor in a Drama Series
Will Win - Lee Jung-jae "Squid Game"
Could Win - Strong or Cox "Succession" or Bob Odenkirk "Better Call Saul"
Should Win - Cox or Odenkirk
Commentary - I know that Strong won last time, and while few are predicting him this time, they are not smart to discount a repeat victory. Cox had the stronger season, and it would be great to see the legend win this award. A lot of people are predicting a Jon Hamm-esque win for Bob Odenkirk, but Better Call Saul is Emmy-less, and Mad Men was one of the most rewarded drama series in history when Hamm finally won. With Succession guys closer this year, and no faith in Odenkirk, I am going with SAG winner Lee Jung-jae, and Squid Game's popularity with actors.
Best Actress in a Drama Series
Will Win - Zendaya "Euphoria"
Could Win - Melanie Lynskey "Yellowjackets" or Laura Linney "Ozark"
Should Win - Lynskey
Commentary - Zendaya won this up against Jennifer Aniston and Olivia Colman when Euphoria was not an Emmy powerhouse. It is now an Emmy powerhouse, and she has, in my opinion, less fierce competition. Expect her to win again. Although don't discount Melanie Lynskey for her fantastic role in Yellowjackets.
