Other Contenders - The Boys, In Treatment, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, P-Valley
Commentary - The Crown is the front runner leading into Tuesday's nominations, and The Mandalorian is hoping to gain some ground. Pose and This is Us were bumped out, but in this year, with less bigger contenders, I expect them to return. The Handmaid's Tale dipped a lot last year (but still managed to get a Drama Series nod). This year it has had renewed critical attention and as less competition. I expect it to have a banner year. Lovecraft Country got cancelled, but it came after the voting ended. It had a lot of heat heading into nominations. I expect it will make the cut. Bridgerton, in a normal year, might be ignored. But it is such a huge hit, and there is a lot less competition. I expect it makes the cut. In the final slot, a lot of folks are picking The Boys. That would be an inspired choice from voters, but I wonder if the more sedate HBO drama Perry Mason, which should do much better down ballot in terms of acting, writing, directing, etc. is the better prediction. In Treatment could also get in, again HBO. The Falcon and the Winter Soldier might be the favorite of the comic book adaptations, and P-Valley is a longshot, but would be a nice surprise.
