Will Win - Jeremy Allen White "The Bear"

Could Win - Jason Sudeikis "Ted Lasso" or Bill Hader "Barry"

Should Win - Jeremy Allen White "The Bear"

Commentary - Every thing is pointing to Jeremy Allen White winning for The Bear. He has swept the major precursors, he is great in the show, and The Bear is the hot new series. Do I think he is going to win? Yes. Do I think it is locked? Absolutely not. Do not discount Jason Sudeikis. He won for the first two seasons, they love him and show, and there is a sentimental factor for the show's last season. 

Best Actress in a Comedy Series

Will Win - Christina Applegate "Dead to Me"

Could Win - Quinta Brunson "Abbott Elementary" or Rachel Brosnahan "The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel", Natasha Lyonne "Poker Face"

Should Win - Quinta Brunson "Abbott Elementary"

Commentary - Quinta should win, in a walk. Rachel is an old favorite, with a lot of range this season, and could surprise. Natasha is a dark horse. But I think that the power and sentiment of Christina Applegate's journey, and the fact that she has won several Emmys in the last twenty years, will prevail in a tight race. 

Best Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series

Will Win - Brett Goldstein "Ted Lasso"

Could Win - James Marsden "Jury Duty" or Ebon Moss-Bachrach "The Bear"

Should Win - Tyler James Williams "Abbott Elementary" or Phil Dunster "Ted Lasso"

Commentary - Brett Goldstein has won twice in a row, over a lot of competition, including internal competition. If voters wanted to reward Ted Lasso this season, they should give it to Phil Dunster, but Goldstein is the favorite, and these supporting categories are known for repeat winners. I think he goes 3 for 3, but this is his toughest race. Dunster could win. Williams should win. If The Bear is more popular than I am predicting, Moss-Bachrach could easily prevail. Finally, I think the biggest wild card here is James Marsden playing himself in Jury Duty. Voters love this show, and this is the perfect place to reward it. Long story not very short, this one is going to a be tight one to the finish. 

Best Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series

Will Win - Ayo Edebiri "The Bear"

Could Win - Sheryl Lee Ralph "Abbott Elementary" or Hannah Waddingham "Ted Lasso"

Should Win - Any of those three

Commentary - Probably the actor that benefitted most from Season 2 of The Bear airing during Emmy voting is Ayo Edebiri, whose character jumped from supporting to lead, and really upped her screen time and her comedic presence. I think she wins. But, both of the last two winners, Sheryl Lee Ralph and Hannah Waddingham, had excellent seasons and could return to the podium.
