New York Film Critics Circle (NYFCC) Award Winners

Carol was the favorite going in, and it did not disappoint with a lot of wins. Saoirse Ronan's win is a nice boost if she is going to beat Brie Larson and Jennifer Lawrence. Kristen Stewart's win was fantastic, and hopefully keeps that underrated gem of a performance and a film on the radar. They put Michael Keaton in lead for Spotlight, but unlike the question marks that are Rooney Mara and Alicia Vikander, I'm still pretty sure he will settle safely into Supporting Actor. And while there is a lot of heat coming for Stallone and Mark Rylance (who won here today), I think that the Birdman loss, and the Keaton career factor could easily carry him to that elusive win.
