So the ASC have announced their five:
Janusz Kaminski "Bridge of Spies"
Ed Lachman "Carol"
John Seale "Mad Max: Fury Road"
Emmanuel Lubezki "The Revenant"
Roger Deakins "Sicario"
This is a great lineup of ASC favorites. But watch out for Robert Richardson, who has always found more love with the Academy than with the ASC, and Dariusz Wolski, as The Martian will probably do really well with the tech guys across the board. Or, honestly, this could be our five. All are well-respected veterans with incredible work this year. I just hope that, with Sicario doing so well across the guilds, that maybe this is finally the year Deakins takes the prize (the Oscar, he has done very well with ASC voters).
