Commentary - Will Lily Gladstone's move to lead kill her chances? At first I thought maybe, but here I am still putting her in the top five, and I think she can make the cut. Margot Robbie as Barbie and Emma Stone for Poor Things both feel pretty solid considering their Oscar history and their films' popularity (also both are receiving raves for their performances). Carey Mulligan could return for Maestro, which is playing well, and she is apparently very good in the film. Finally, Sandra Huller could end up being a double nominee this year, but her Palme D'or winning film Anatomy of a Fall gives her the best chance at an Oscar nomination. I moved out Fantasia, because I am concerned that I am hearing not a lot of buzz for The Color Purple. It may move around my supporting picks as well depending on the reaction. But, the potential is still there, so she sits solidly in sixth place. Greta Lee could be powered by critics, Natalie Portman is receiving great reviews in May December, Annette Bening is an overdue legend, and I think Cailee Spaeny and Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor could easily breakthrough. Also watch out for Comer, Levy, Taylor, Mirren, Louis-Dreyfus, Williams,Chastain, Fortson, Dynevor, and Ronan.
