2020 Emmy Predictions: Best Supporting Actor and Supporting Actress in a TV Movie/Limited Series

Best Supporting Actor in a TV Movie/Limited Series
Will Win - Jim Parsons "Hollywood"
Could Win - Louis Gossett Jr. "Watchmen", Tituss Burgess "Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt: Kimmy vs. the Reverend", Yahya Abdul-Mateen II "Watchmen"
Should Win - Jovan Adepo "Watchmen"
Commentary - This category feels like such a toss-up. I could see one of the Watchmen guys winning, and they would deserve it. But with three in the category, I think vote-splitting is bound to happen. That leaves one of the other three. I think the two actors most likely to benefit from this split are Jim Parsons and Tituss Burgess. Burgess would be a nice surprise, as he has never won for his role on Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, and the finale film did get nominated for TV Movie. Hollywood, in comparison, did not get nominated in Limited Series, but it was clearly well-liked among Emmy voters earning four total acting nominations. I think actors will appreciate Jim Parsons playing against type, and he has won a lot of Emmys. In a close race, I think Parsons will pull it off.

Best Supporting Actress in a TV Movie/Limited Series
Will Win - Jean Smart "Watchmen"
Could Win - Toni Collette "Unbelievable" or Uzo Aduba "Mrs. America"
Should Win - Jean Smart "Watchmen"
Commentary - With so many Mrs. America nominations, once again voting splitting helps other contenders. Although I would not count out Uzo Aduba. I think this is between Collette and Smart, both popular previous Emmy winners. Smart is so damn good in Watchmen, and she has won so many Emmys over the years. Unbelievable did get into Limited Series, but it definitely did not end up being as popular as it was presumed. I think the power of Watchmen will pull Smart over the finish line.
