The 65th American Cinema Editors (ACE) Eddie Award Nominations

Two big misses for the Eddie are Selma and The Theory of Everything, while American Sniper, Nightcrawler and Whiplash muscle their way in. Also a note that this is the second big guild nod for The Grand Budapest Hotel. If it gets in at WGA and PGA, I think it is a lock for a Best Picture nomination. The biggest take away I have from these nods is that this race is far from over, there are still a lot of films clamoring to be in the Best Picture race (Into the Woods is still fighting and got a nod here to help). With American Sniper and Whiplash, I think that if they back up their nods here with some more guild recognition, they are in.
