The Oscar Narrative: Final Oscar Predictions - Best Animated Feature, Documentary Feature, and International Feature Film

Best Animated Feature
Will Win - Toy Story 4
Could Win - Klaus or Missing Link
Should Win - Toy Story 4
Commentary - Klaus upset at the Annie Awards and the BAFTAs, and Missing Link upset at the Globes. Is Toy Story 4 as strong as it once was earlier in the season? The answer is no, and I would not be shocked to hear either of the two names mentioned instead. I am sticking with Pixar though, because it is usually safe to bet for them, than against them.

Best Documentary Feature
Will Win - American Factory
Could Win - For Sama or Honeyland
Should Win - American Factory
Commentary - After Apollo 11 was unceremoniously left off the list, a wide open race has ensued. Honeyland got double nods this year (and isn't winning its other category), so voters might want to reward it. For Sama just won the BAFTA, and has been a force all year. But I am sticking with American Factory. It has won some high-profile awards, has the Obamas backing it, and probably has the story that will connect the most with Oscar voters. But it is a tight race to the finish.

Best International Feature Film
Will Win - Parasite
Could Win - Les Miserables or Pain & Glory
Should Win - Parasite or Pain & Glory
Commentary - It's actually a great year for this category, and any of the top three choices would be great picks. But we all know this is Parasites to lose.
