2015 Emmy Nomination Predictions: Best TV Movie

2015 Nomination Predictions
Agatha Christie's Poirot: Curtain, Poirots Last Case
Bessie
Killing Jesus
Nightingale
Worricker: Salting the Battlefield

Other Contenders - Derek: The Final Chapter, Foyle's War: Elise, The Final Mystery, Whitney, Hello Ladies: The Movie, Grace of Monaco, Stockholm, Pennsylvania, Big Driver, With this Ring

Commentary - A weak field this year does not help their case to have two separate categories. At least the series category looks a lot stronger. Bessie and Nightingale, the two HBO productions are locks, and honestly, the only two I think can win (with Bessie far out in front). The Bible managed to make it in a few years ago, so the same crowd probably loved Killing Jesus, although the response was far less enthusiastic than its religious predecessor. The last two slots, I honestly have no idea. Stockholm, Pennsylvania has a great cast, but sorry reviews. Derek: The Final Chapter could do well, but it might be all about Ricky Gervais. And while they have some decent performances, I don't think Lifetime can wrangle either Whitney or Grace of Monaco in to this category. Instead, I think the Brits are going to stake their claim. If this really is Poirot's last case, this seems like a great nostalgic vote, and while Page Eight failed to make the cut, I think that Salting the Battlefield will take advantage of a weak crop, and a great cast to take the final slot.
