Best Supporting Actor in a TV Movie/Limited Series
Will Win - Evan Peters "Mare of Easttown"
Could Win - Daveed Diggs "Hamilton"
Should Win - Evan Peters "Mare of Easttown" or Paapa Essiedu "I May Destroy You"
Commentary - The Hamilton juggernaut is hovering over these awards. It did better than expected in terms of nomination, are we underestimating it in terms of acting wins? Probably, which is why I may switch to Daveed Diggs before this season is over. But I think voters are going to finally reward Evan Peters. Peters has built quite the reputation over the last couple of years on television, and finally earns his first way overdue Emmy nod. I think voters will respond. Peters is also deserving, and a surprise from Essiedu would be welcomed as well.
Best Supporting Actress in a TV Movie/Limited Series
Will Win - Kathryn Hahn "WandaVision"
Could Win - Julianne Nicholson "Mare of Easttown" or Renee Elise Goldsberry "Hamilton"
Should Win - Kathryn Hahn "WandaVision"
Commentary - Julianne Nicholson is quietly becoming a strong upset here, and the Hamilton love means you cannot count out Goldsberry (she also was snubbed for Girls5Eva, so this could be a double win). But I find it hard that any contender is going to overcome the buzz of Kathryn Hahn, and personally, I hope no one does. She was a pivotal figure in WandaVision, and was fantastic. She is also a fantastic underrated actress that has been churning out incredible work for years. She would be an excellent choice for Emmy voters.
