2012 Emmy Nomination Predictions: Guest Actor in a Drama Series

2012 Nomination Predictions
1. Michael J. Fox "The Good Wife"
2. Matthew Perry "The Good Wife"
3. Robert Morse "Mad Men"
4. Chris Messina "Damages"
5. Mykelti Williamson "Justified"
6. Jeremy Davies "Justified"

Other Contenders - Jeffrey Wright "House", Andre Braugher "Law & Order: SVU", Michael Gambon "Luck", Edward James Olmos "Dexter", Beau Bridges "White Collar", Fred Willard "The Closer", Mos Def "Dexter", T.R. Knight "Law & Order: SVU", Mark Margolis "Breaking Bad", Paul McCrane "Harry's Law"
Commentary - Once again, a tough race. There are few that are basically locks. The two Good Wife guest stars both look to fight it out for the top prize, with Fox in the lead. Although they may choose his Curb Your Enthusiasm role and give Matthew Perry a long overdue Emmy win. Beyond them, the only other lock I can think of is Emmy winner Robert Morse who has yet to not be nominated for his Mad Men role. I also think that Chris Messina's biting role in Damages is a pretty safe bet. It is the last two slots that I am having some trouble. Jeremy Davies got in last year, and I think that despite a lot of competition, he is in again. But with names like Jeffrey Wright, Andre Braugher, Edward James Olmos, and Michael Gambon, I wonder if Justified can actually get in two nominees in this category. Right now I think they can, with Mykelti Williamson's powerful role as Ellstin being quite memorable. But he and Davies are vulnerable, heck so is Messina, and all have lots of competition nipping at their heels.

  1. Very interesting analogy.

I think Fox, Morse, Davies, Knight, Perry and Willard will get in.
