Will Win - Bradley Whitford "The Handmaid's Tale"
Could Win - Culkin or MacFayden "Succession", Billy Crudup "The Morning Show" or Giancarlo Esposito "Better Call Saul"
Should Win - Matthew MacFayden "Succession"
Commentary - If Nicholas Braun had not been nominated, I would be leaning towards either Culkin or MacFayden. But that third nomination concerns me. None of these guys have the Peter Dinklage level of popularity. So wins instead? A lot of folks are predicting Billy Crudup, and maybe I should instead of Aniston, or maybe I should predict both? But can The Morning Show win two acting awards without a series nomination. It is not a common thing. One maybe, more than one? Not likely. Also with Mark Duplass nominated he now has internal competition. Can Esposito win for two nods despite Better Call Saul's huge drop? Maybe, but I think if he is going to win it is going to be in Guest for The Mandalorian which did much better. I am going out on a limb for Bradley Whitford. He won last year for this role in Guest. He is wildly popular with these voters, having won a lot of Emmys recently. And I think he benefits from all of the vote splitting.
Best Supporting Actress in a Drama Series
Will Win - Helena Bonham Carter "The Crown"
Could Win - Julia Garner "Ozark" or Sarah Snook "Succession"
Should Win - Sarah Snook or Helena Bonham Carter
Commentary - Did Julia Garner win because of vote splitting? Or did they just love her? This will be decided on Emmy night if she can win again. Sarah Snook could also win as well. She is great. I think though that The Crown is not going to walk away empty handed, and it just won the SAG Ensemble. Carter is a legend, she is fantastic in this role, and I think she is going to pull it off.
