2018 Venice Film Festival: First Man Kicks Off Oscar Season

It should probably come as no surprise that First Man, Damien Chazelle and Ryan Gosling's La La Land followup has hit well with critics as it opens up this year's star-packed Venice Film Festival. So far the reviews have been positive, and the Oscar buzz has already started to ramp up. Of particular note are the technical achievements, Chazelle's directing, and Ryan Gosling's performance, all of which look like they are head for Oscar gold.
