2012 Tony Predictions: Featured Actor in a Musical

Could Win - Michael McGrath "Nice Work if You Can Get It" and David Alan Grier "The Gershwin's Porgy and Bess"

Commentary - A close race, there doesn't seem to be a consensus on a winner here. On the outside looking in is possibility David Alan Grier, but it looks like this is a two-horse race between Cerveris and McGrath. Both McGrath and Cerveris are Broadway veterans, McGrath having been a Tony nominee before and Cerveris a winner in 2004 for Assassins. While I think it is a close race, and McGrath has the better vehicle in Nice Work If You Can Get It, I think that Cerveris will end up winning, simply for the fact that his performance is probably the biggest Tony bait on the two, and he nailed it with gusto.
