Commentary - So this race, as always, is so packed that a surprise can come from anywhere. Tina Fey and Tiffany Haddish seem like locks, and will probably battle it out for the win for their excellent SNL episodes. The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel is going to have a banner year, and multiple Emmy winner Jane Lynch should easily get in for her awesome episode. Will & Grace has always done well in this category, and could bring back several nominees in both Guest Actor and Guest Actress. I really want to predict Molly Shannon, but she has only ever managed two nominations, and neither were for her previous turns on the show. So I am only including Blythe Danner, who has been nominated before and is a beloved Emmy favorite. Wanda Sykes managed to get in last year, and made headlines for her public denunciation of Roseanne as one of the show's producers. I think she gets in. The last slot I am reserving for Lisa Kudrow. It seems like every time her name is on a ballot she manages an Emmy nomination. I think she continues her streak. Lauren Graham could finally get in, but always seems to miss the mar, Laurie Metcalf and Christine Baranski are previous nominees and always threats, and I would not discount Lena Waithe, Estelle Parsons, Minnie Driver, Elizabeth Banks, Jane Krakowski, and Saoirse Ronan.
