There are always a few WTF nominations (Annabelle, The Boy Next Door, The Other Woman), but overall, this is a pretty great list that balances indies with blockbusters, and recognizes comedy, sci-fi, and drama. Honestly, while I actually enjoyed most of the Oscar nominations this year, if the Academy is so worried about ratings, but also wants to keep its prestige factor, it should actually look to this year's MTV Movie Awards nominees.
