2014 Emmy Nomination Predictions: Best Miniseries

2014 Nomination Predictions
American Horror Story: Coven
Dancing on the Edge
Fargo
Luther
The White Queen

Other Contenders - Treme, Bonnie and Clyde, Klondike, The Hollow Crown, Fleming the Man Who Would be Bond, The Spoils of Babylon, Rosemary's Baby, Hostages, Full Circle.

Other Contenders - Poor American Horror Story, just when I thought that it had a chance to finally win one of these things (with the sudden absence of True Detective), then Fargo comes along and once again squashes its chances. Coven is in a solid second position, but I would honestly be shocked if anything beats Fargo. Once you move beyond these two, there is not an incredible amount of competition. Dancing on the Edge has the Globe wins, the buzz, and the incredible cast for it to cruise to a nomination. And The White Queen is just the type of big period production that inspires votes, and fills slots when needed (although The Hollow Crown could be eclipsing its buzz and could sneak in and steal its spot). The last slot could go one of several ways. Bonnie and Clyde could ride to glory on its name alone, let alone some of its cast, including favorites like Holly Hunter and William Hurt. Treme was largely ignored by the voters when it competed in Drama Series, simply for the fact that there was just too much competition. But now that it is in the miniseries category, it could finally breakthrough with some big nominations. But I think the last slot goes to Luther. It has been a reliable favorite, a placeholder for Academy members. I think that none of the outside contenders have enough muscle next to and old favorite.
