Runners Up - John Cleese "Cheers", Martin Sheen "Murphy Brown"
Commentary - No one in recent history is as good as creating hilarious scene-stealing characters than the legendary Mel Brooks. One of his most endearing was his Uncle Phil on Mad About You, a character that netted him a total of 3 Emmy awards. That is quite a feat considering he only appeared in a total of four episodes in the show's seven year run. His character was hilarious, his episodes some of the best of the series, and more importantly, Uncle Phil showcased everything that has made Mel Brooks the entertainer that he is.
