Should Win - The Young and the Restless
Commentary - This seems to be a year with a lot of conflicting views about who will win Best Drama Series. I think that The Bold and the Beautiful has finally hit an Emmy stride over the last several years, had a great year with a lot of big storylines, and will take home the prize. As always, my pick would be Y&R, and it always has a shot with lots of nominations, #1 rating among the soaps, and a decent year. But these two are not the only contenders. GH and Days are both possibilities, particularly General Hospital, which is beloved by the Academy. One Life to Live may have started on the online platform, but voters may feel sentimental with its last broadcast episodes in contention. It will be a close race, but I am sticking with my guns and going with B&B.
