So, I figured that Fincher, Hooper, Aronofsky, and Nolan were in, but the fifth spot was up in the air. While I think that Russell is the weakest, and could easily get replace by the Coens or Boyle, or maybe even Granik at the Oscars, this speaks loud volumes for the popularity of The Fighter, and it is clear that these five are the top films of the year, and are the ones that will probably rack up the most nods/wins come Oscar time.
David Fincher, The Social Network
Tom Hooper, The King’s Speech
Darren Aronofsky, Black Swan
David O. Russell, The Fighter
Christopher Nolan, Inception
