2018 Nomination Predictions
Anthony Anderson "black-ish"
Larry David "Curb Your Enthusiasm"
Donald Glover "Atlanta"
Bill Hader "Barry"
William H. Macy "Shameless"
Erik McCormack "Will & Grace"
Other Contenders - Ted Danson "The Good Place", Zach Galifianakis "Baskets", John Goodman "Roseanne", Jason Bateman "Arrested Development", Matt LeBlanc "Episodes" Thomas Middleditch "Silicon Valley", Ian Armitage "Young Sheldon", Jim Parsons "The Big Bang Theory", Andy Samberg "Brooklyn Nine-Nine", Tracy Morgan "The Last O.G."
Commentary - So Aziz Ansari is inelgibile, and Jeffrey Tambor was not submitted, so there are at least two slots. I also think that last year's nominee Zach Galifianakis is vulnerable as an onslaught of new contenders tries to dethrone him. Donald Glover, William H. Macy, and Anthony Anderson feel safe despite the new contenders, and all three could contend for the win. I think Bill Hader has earned enough good will for Barry, and could be a dark horse for the win. Larry David is not my favorite actor by any means, and I did not particularly like this season of Curb, but he is a longtime favorite of the Television Academy, and should be popular enough to break back in. Erik McCormack won for his role before as Will, and I think that Emmy voters are ready to bring him and the rest of the cast back into the Emmy fold. Beyond those six and Galifianakis, Emmy favorites Goodman, Bateman, Danson, and Parsons are all possibilities, as is Middleditch, Armitage, Samberg ,and Morgan.
