Commentary - It feels like there are seven easy votes. We know The Handmaid's Tale, This is Us, Game of Thrones, Westworld, Stranger Things, and The Crown are going to return, and after skipping a year, it feels like The Americans is going to make the cut for its final season, without Better Call Saul or House of Cards standing in its way. But is this too simple? Is there room for upset? The answer, of course, is yes. I really don't see any of the other contenders breaking through other than BBC's Killing Eve. The heat behind that show, the buzz, the TCA nods. This show is something special, and it is one to watch for. Who does it beat out? A lot of folks are not going to be happy to read this, but the seventh show is The Americans. It only got in the one year, and last year, with the onslaught of new contenders, it got bumped out. I am keeping it in over Killing Eve for one reason: final season nostalgia. I think there is enough goodwill for this show's final season to beat out the buzz for the hot new thing on the market.
