BFCA Critics' Choice Awards Nominees

Here are my thoughts on the nominees:
  • So Black Swan leads the nominations with 12.
  • Although The Social Network didn't get that many (It will never be the most nominated due to lack of technicals), it showed up in unexpected categories such as Sound, and Score (not unexpected, just glad it did).
  • The Kids Are All Right seems to be losing steam, although BFCA doesn't necessary always correlate 100% with the Oscars, and it still got Actress, Supporting Actor, Ensemble and Screenplay.
  • I love the Noomi Repace love, but to be honest, not nominating Leslie Manville is a crime, and I still think she will come through with an Oscar nod.
  • I also love the Blue Valentine love for Gosling and Williams, although both of the them may end up in the sixth position come Oscar nomination morning, which truly is a shame.
  • Also, wonderful to see Jacki Weaver show up in something more than a small critics' group. Also nice to finally see one of the Black Swan supporting girls (in this case its Mila Kunis) get some recognition, although I wonder if they have the staying power, or if it is really all about Natalie.
  • The Directing category seems to have narrowed down its six people for the final five slots. I feel that the two most vulnerable are the two leading the nominations Aronofsky and Hooper, and I do wonder which one will make the cut (While i feel it should be Aronofsky, my gut is telling me Hooper).
